Garlic noodles are a deliciously simple yet flavorful dish that has become a staple in the Vietnamese-American community. With their rich, buttery taste and aromatic, these noodles are comforting and garlicky.
The recipe uses spaghetti, but it also goes great with egg noodles or lo mein!
2 tablespoons butter 2 teaspoon oyster sauce 2 teaspoon soy sauce (regular or dark. Maggi is also an option) 2 teaspoon fish sauce 1 teaspoon white granulated sugar 1½ tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese 15 -18 grams Northern Mountain Garlic, sliced ½ lbs dry spaghetti. This recipe also works well with egg noodles and lo mein. 1-2 green onion for garnish Salt and pepper to taste
In a small bowl, rehydrate Northern Mountain Garlic with water for 3 minutes then drain
In another bowl, add oyster sauce, soy sauce, fish sauce, and sugar. Whisk well and set aside.
Boil water in a pot and cook the spaghetti according to package instructions.
In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add garlic and cook until golden and fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.
Add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet, pour in the sauce mixture, and toss well to coat. If needed, add a splash of pasta cooking water to help the sauce coat the noodles.
Serve the noodles topped with grated Parmesan cheese, freshly ground black pepper, and sliced green onions. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper as desired.
