DETAILS

Discover the essence of Central Vietnamese cuisine with Bang Bang Onion, also known as củ nén / hành tăm in Vietnamese. Sourced from Quảng Ngãi, a province located in Central Vietnam, this cherished herb has been a cornerstone of Vietnamese cooking for generations. With its sweet aroma and a flavor reminiscent of a medley of chives, shallots, and garlic, Bang Bang Onion adds a unique touch to any dish. Its buttery, nutty, and subtly spicy notes not only pair well with seafood but also lend depth into various recipes. Experience the vibrant flavors of Vietnamese herbs and spices with củ nén with our recipes!

Net weight: 1.76 oz (50g)

HOW TO USE BANG BANG ONION (CỦ NÉN)

You can use củ nén in a variety of ways. Here are three of our favorite ways to use or rehydrate this classic Vietnamese herb.

    • A great substitute for garlic or shallot! Rehydrate the herbs by letting them bloom in water for 1-2 minutes then drain excess water.
    • Cooking tip:
      • If skipping rehydration, begin cooking with low heat to prevent burning.
      • Use to marinate any seafood dishes as the herbs help remove the fishy taste.

Please note this product cooks quickly with the heat on. If using multiple herbs, prepare them separately as they have different cooking times.
