Crimson Galangal
DETAILS
Our Crimson Galangal (riềng đỏ) hails from Thanh Hoá, a province in the north-central Vietnam. A staple in Northern and Central Vietnamese cuisine, as well as in Southeast Asian cooking, galangal offers a unique spicy warmth. Although galangal resembles ginger's appearance, its flavor is distinctively different. Crimson Galangal boasts peppery and earthy notes that resemble spruce tips and pink peppercorn, enhancing various dishes such as stews, braises, and curries. Among Vietnam’s three galangal varieties, the red galangal stands out for its remarkable fragrance.
